Part One - The CustomerAs the door was opened, the little bell rang, signalling a visitor. I put down my pencil, which I had been sketching with, and proceeded to the counter where the potential customer would most likely be waiting. However, when I got there, no one was to be seen.
Just kids, probably.
I could have sworn I had heard a faint scratching sound, but I thought nothing of it and turned around to go back to my sketching.
That bird still needs wings.
I then heard the scratching a second time, however, it was accompanied with a quiet cough.
How embarrassing, it must be a client of the short variety.
"Terribly sorry, it's not the first time this counter has caused problems, it's too tall, y'know."
I peered over the counter to see whether they were a sir or madam so I could address them correctly and possibly persuade them back to getting whatever they need at my shop.
A fox. Red fur, bushy tail, big black ears.
